After retiring from education, Mary devoted 16 years to the care of her son, Ronald, and rightfully spoiled his service dog, Meade. She offered support and counsel for families who faced the care of a loved one with spinal cord injuries.
Mary loved spending quality time with others. Whether it was lunch out with friends, a sorority meeting, a night at a Polka dance, swimming in the pool, playing pretend, telling jokes or beating her grandson in a game of Old Maid, she was always up to make memories. Spoiling her adored grandchildren was what she lived for the most.
