On Monday, April 13th, Mike Terrell, loving husband and father of four, passed away at the early age of 55. Mike was born on April 28th, 1964 in Kansas City, KS. He married the love of his life and his “tall German”, as he affectionately would call her, Christie Terrell on September 11th, 1999. They raised three beautiful daughters, Taylor, Cali, and Erica, and a handsome son, Dylan. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his parents, Michelle (Micki) and Larry Terrell, his two siblings, Jay and his wife Cara, Tracy and her husband Kevin, several aunts, uncles, cousins and a multitude of friends.
Mike was a passionate and gracious man who loved his family and friends so dearly. He was outgoing and full-of-life from the moment he entered the world. His family was truly his life, and that was so evident in his loving nature. Mike loved to cook big, delicious meals in his home for everyone and would offer a plate to anyone around, whether he had met them or not. He was a man of God who would drop whatever he was doing to help a friend or stranger in need.
His career was in iron working for over two decades, but when he wasn’t at work, he loved playing sports with his friends and especially the love of his life, Christie Terrell. You could often find him in the backyard on a nice day playing washers, cornhole, horseshoes and spending time with his beautiful family. Mike also spent his free time reading scripture and playing games like Farkle with his wife and children.
Words cannot express just how thoughtful and giving Mike was. He was truly a warrior in all facets of life and while his family and friends miss him so very much, they know that God needed him for greater battles.
A celebration of life will be held in Mike’s memory at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations.
