He was born June 14, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri to Nick and Lina (Guerrera) DiRaimo. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served as a Sergeant in Korea. He was a member of the Brick Layers Union Local No. 15 for more than 60 years. He was an avid bowler for more than 60 years with several 300 games, and loved pitching horseshoes, winning many championships. He was inducted into the Missouri Horseshoe Hall of Fame in 2011, and is the only person to have thrown a perfect game at the Liberty Horseshoe Arena.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Madeline (Short), and son in law Don Short, sisters Catherine Bybee and Rosemary Serrone, and brothers Donald, Francis and Robert DiRaimo.
Nick is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 65 years, Angela (Manzo) DiRaimo; daughter Virginia “Jenny” (Bob) Zink and son Nick (Andrea); grandchildren Vincent (Holly) Zink and TiaMarie (Alex) Maggard; great-grandchildren who were the joy of his life Cadence and Jaxon Zink, Sophia and Elliana Maggard and their brother due in August; as well as many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, June 2, from 5:00-8:00 pm at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri, with a Rosary said at 5:30 pm. A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 3, at St. Gabriel Church, 4737 N Cleveland Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri, followed by burial with military honors at White Chapel Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
