Patricia L Powers

Patricia Louise (Stock) Powers, 89, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on August 7, 2014. Pat was born April 3, 1925, in Kansas City, MO. She was married to Donald R. Powers, a former Detective Sergeant with the Kansas City Police Department, in 1951. Pat worked as a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell in the Gladstone office beginning in the 1940’s. She continued her employment with Bell System into the 1970’s. During retirement, she and Don managed a camp ground at Lake Pomme de Terre where they loved fishing. They enjoyed family vacations and traveling together in later years. Patricia had a lot of style and liked bargain hunting. She was also known for her great cooking. She loved making Christmas cookies and candies to share with family and friends during the holidays. Being surrounded by family was one of her joys in life. She is survived by her three children, Sandra Skaggs and her husband Bill, Richard Powers and his wife Margaret, Lesa Gonzalez and son-in-law Ray; 6 grandchildren, Kelly Skaggs (Nils Chittenden), Trent Skaggs (Amanda), Shanna Tempel (Jeff), Dustin Powers, Marcos Gonzalez, and Marcella Gonzalez; 6 great-grandchildren, Ella, Cora, Levi, Xander, Max, and Cooper; her sisters, Marian Campbell and Laura Jane Redford; her brother, Jay Stock and wife, Mary Ann, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 11, 2014 at White Chapel Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to service. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of North Kansas City.
