Paul Dean Castor

Paul Dean Castor, 94, of Gladstone, MO passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at NorthCare Hospice House. Paul was born May 6, 1921 in Weatherby, MO to Cleo and Gladys (Poage) Castor. Paul attended business school in Chillicothe, MO prior to joining the Navy during WWII. On September 6, 1942, he married Mary Louise Riggs and moved to Kansas City, after the war. Paul was employed by Farmland Industries, where he held various positions in the Finance Department. He retired after 35 years, in 1983. He was an active member of Antioch Community Church and served on the Church Board for many years. He especially enjoyed participating in the NKC Hospital Cardiac Rehab Program for over 30 years. Paul was most proud of his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Mary Louise (1988); parents; sister, Dixie Manring; brother, Dale; and sister-in-law, Wanda Castor. Survivors include his son, David (Georgeann), of Port Angeles, WA; daughter, Barbara (Bill) Mass of Silver City, IA; brother, Don of Gladstone, MO; 5 granddaughters, Julie Spaulding, Trisha McClanahan and Shawna (Alan) Sorenson all of OP, KS, Rachel Castor of Sandpoint, ID and Emily Castor of Portland, OR; and 9 great grandchildren.
