Paula English, tragically passed away in her home along with her dog Roxy on May 8th 2026 along with her husband Scott Kohrs who struggled with mental health issues. Gun violence, Anti-depressants and alcohol addiction played a role in this loss.
Paula was born June 13, 1960 in North KC to Henry and Francis Horn. She was a self-taught woman who was an entrepreneur her entire life. She helped people in sales and marketing, and communication skills, and specialized in Juice Plus and Shaklee. After moving to San Francisco she met her Husband Jay English and together they had two children. Vaughn English and Olivia English were born at home all natural, which was important to both Jay and Paula. Paula pushed on organic healthy food, camping, hiking, manners, and being joyful, kind, and loving to all she met. Eventually Paula English moved back to Kansas City with Vaughn and Olivia to raise them closer to family, and in a beautiful neighborhood called Prairie Village. While raising 2 kids by herself, and full-time care giver of her mother, she became a global leader in sales and marketing, public speaking events, and an author of two books. After many years alone, Paula found Scott Kohrs who had been her high school sweetheart. Paula and Scott moved to Albany Missouri and became deeply active in the Lions Club, the town square events, and Paula found a role playing piano and delivering sermons at the Denver Community Church.
Paula, Roxy, and Scott were deeply loved and will be terribly missed.
She is preceded in death by her mother Francis, Father Henry, and many dear friends along the way.
Paula is survived by her children, Vaughn, and Olivia, and her four siblings Jeff, Julie, Ted, and Linda.
Funeral service will be held May 28th in Kansas City at Unity Temple on the Plaza at 10am followed by a reception. Her burial will be the 29th starting at 11am at the Denver Community Church followed by burial service at the family cemetery in Barnard Missouri.
