

Perry was born in Urich, MO to Perry J. and Myrtle Terry Handy. He graduated from Osceola High School in 1952. Perry married his first love, Carol Cobb Handy in 1952. After moving to Kansas City he began working as a union apprentice painter in 1952. Over the next 20 years they had three children. Perry was a self starter and hard worker in the construction field and started working on his own in the painting, wallpaper, roofing and remodeling business. In 1975 he married Edith Victoria (Vickie) Hader. They were together for over 40 years. Together they faithfully volunteered over 30 years at Trinity and Research Hospital. They were also active members of the Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, KS. Perry was very proud to be a Scottish Rite Master Mason of the Rising Sun Lodge member for 50 years.
He is preceded in death by his son, Perry Dean Handy, Jr, his wife, Edith (Vickie) Hader Handy, his brother Robert Joe Handy, sisters, Irma Lee Handy, and Norma Jean Belcher.
Perry is survived by his first wife, Carol A. Handy of Sedalia, MO, his sister Delta Eggers of Cleveland, MO, his daughter, Darcy Tafoya (Richard) of Overland Park, KS, his son, David Handy (Peggy) of Buckley, Michigan, grandchildren Emily Escajeda of Michigan, Valarie Hendrick (Michael) of Michigan, Sara Howell (Josh) of Sedalia, MO, Daniel Tafoya (Jessica) of Richwood, Ohio and Stephen Tafoya of Boston, Mass. Niece, Marilyn Rugova of Overland Park, KS and nephew Brian Eggers of Grandview, MO. Perry also has ten great grand children.
Due to Covid 19, the family will be having a private funeral and burial service at White Chapel Funeral Home and Cemetery. Ceremony will be recorded and made available on the White Chapel Facebook Page. Interment will be at White Chapel Cemetery, Garden of Christus.
The family would like to thank the Visiting Nurse Association Hospice Care for their amazing care and dedication.
