Mr. Henderson was my 5th grade teacher at Manor Hill.  He was a great teacher and a very nice person - I have nothing but fond memories of him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends; I am so sorry for your loss.

Uncle Dick was always so warm and had the greatest smile ever! He always treated us with kindness and love and had a quick wit. Listening to the 6 brothers tell jokes with each other will always be a fond memory.  Also, listening to them sing while Great Aunt Ruth played her mighty pump organ was just too cool for all of us kids. I remember going to Sioux Falls to watch Dick in a barbershop quartet concert and it left an amazing impression on me that I will always hold in my heart.  Uncle Dick was dearly loved!

I have great memories of Dick (and Bess) from many years of singing together in the Beresford Methodist Church choir.  I also worked under Dick at a grocery store in Beresford for a few years.  He was a few years older than me, but he was always very friendly.


I have too many good memories to count. I loved going to grandma and grandpa's house as a kid with my younger sister Breanna (Elizabeth was not born yet). We had a blast! Christmas was also magical, growing up, at Grandma and Grandpa's house. I sat in the back of my parent's car with excitement spilling out as we drove the familiar path from Shawnee Mission to Liberty. Loaded down with new toys we would later return home, but nothing matched the memories of warmth and love I experienced at their house. Some of my favorite and earliest memories are from going out on the boat with Grandma and Grandpa.  I was allowed to sit on the very front of the boat (behind a bar) and could feel the wind in my face as we rode through the waters. I have vague memories of joining them for a camping trip as well. 
 When it comes to my grandpa, I know he made an impact on a lot of people. I was once at a concert with him at Johnson County Community College. Halfway through the concert, during the intermission, someone sitting behind us exclaimed " Mr. Henderson?!" It was an old student of Grandpa's. I thought this was MY neck of the woods. Ha ha, I was wrong. Actually, my dad said that happened a lot.  Lastly, I remember talking to my Grandpa on the phone last year. unfortunately, due to COVID I could not visit him in person.  I called him every once in a while. A few months ago, we had a great conversation: we talked about politics, religion (we both enjoy discussing those things), family, and many other things. He was upbeat and even made a funny joke. I know we made a connection that day. I love him and will miss him a lot. I am thankful that I will see him again someday, he is in heaven, free of pain, and with his Lord and Savior, Jesus.
