Rosanne was born to Herbert and Josephine (Port) Possley on October 24, 1949 in Port Washington, Wisconsin. Rosanne graduated from Port Washington High School in 1968. She received her teaching certificate from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1972 and her Masters in Library Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1981. Rosanne was a catholic school educator at St. Peter’s of Alcantara in Port Washington before switching professions to become a travel agent for Biever’s Travel and later Travel and Transport.
Rosanne was married to her best friend and love of her life, Dennis Ryer, for 47 years. They lived in Port Washington and Grafton, WI for 24 years before moving to Kansas City, Missouri. Rosanne is survived by her husband and four daughters: Jen (Dustin) Gage of Cartersville, GA; Kate (Alex) Tignor of Wiesbaden, Germany; Megan (Jason) Lacy of Kansas City, MO; and Erin (Carl) Kissinger of Kansas City, MO. She is survived by nine grandchildren: Carson and Rhegan Gage; Eric and Haiden Tignor; Jillian and Sloane Lacy; and Charlee, Adalynn, and Gabrielle Kissinger. Rosanne is survived by her brother John (Sherry) Possley; step-sister Eileen (Bruce) Friesch; step-brother Bob (Sharon) Hoffmann; and step-sister in-law Rosie Hoffmann. She was preceded in death by both parents Herbert and Josephine (Port) Possley; her step-mother Bernadine (Augustin) Possley; and her step-brother Dr. Raymond Hoffmann.
Rosanne lived life to the fullest; she filled each moment devoted to her family and friends. She was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. Rosanne was an avid traveler, crafter, reader, and excellent cook. She loved a good deal and could be found scouring the local thrift store. She will be greatly missed by those that loved her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 9:00 a.m., Holy Family Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri followed by mass at 10:30 a.m. The interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery directly after mass. A luncheon will be held afterwards back at the church.
The family asks for donations to be made to the American Heart Association, Hillcrest Thrift Shop, or World Wide Hunger Relief in lieu of flowers.
