Roy E. Baker, son of J.O. and Susan Baker of Ft. Scott, KS and longtime resident of Kansas City North, passed away 6/21/2015. He was 88. He was married to June Rosenlof Baker for almost 47 years before her death in 1996. He is survived by sons, Robert (Kelli) and Tom (Angelyna) and daughter, Mary Haux (Hadley), five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Roy served in the Navy during WWII, graduated from University of Missouri in 1949 with BS in Business Administration and co-founded Baker & Thomas CPA firm in 1955, retiring in 1992. He served as past-president of Missouri Society of CPAs, NKC Chamber of Commerce, NKC Breakfast Club and NKC School Dist. He was an avid fan of Chiefs, Royals and Mizzou sports and spent much of his free time with family. Memorial service to be held Sun. July 19, 2pm at Avondale Methodist Church, 3101 NE Winn Rd., KCMO 64117. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of June.
