Sandra Sue Carey

She was born April 4, 1950 in Hartville, Missouri to Marion and Elizabeth (Young) Gourley. Sandra grew up in Hartville and graduated in 1968 from Hartville High School. After high school Sandra married her high school sweetheart and moved to the Kansas City area to start their family. Sandra made a career out of baking and cooking where she enjoyed hosting huge family dinners and making her famous “hot rolls”. Family was very important to her. She was known as “mom” to many friends and coworkers.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 16 years, Ross; her stepmother, Audrey Gourley; children, Karen (Mark) Tuzzolino, Kristy Burch, and Nathan (Linsey) Davis; stepchildren, Bradly J. (Rachael) Carey and Pamela Carey; grandchildren, Marie (Geoff) Pottorff, Joseph Tuzzolino, Kayla Stotts, Garrett Burch, Haley (Michael) Sheffer, Richard Carey and Morgan Carey; great-grandchildren, Charlie and Henry Sheffer.
