Shirley "Suzie" Lee (Wethered) Acton 74 died peacefully on December 12, 2021. Shirley was born on December 4 in Kansas City, Mo. She graduated from Raytown South High school. She then married Stephen M. Smith and settled in Raytown, Mo. The couple welcomed two daughters into their home.
After several years of marriage, they decided to amicably divorce. Shirley moved to the Kansas City Northland and worked very hard in raising her two daughters. She worked Several years at Lady Baltimore in the computer department. In about 1989, she met the love of her life, Lonnie Wethered. They were married in 1990 and moved to Gladstone. They were involved in the American Legion for several years. She was president of the American Legion ladies Auxiliary from 1985-1987. Shirley was passionate about quilting, sewing, jewelry making, and several other crafts.
She is preceded in death by husband Lonnie Wethered, her mother Shirley Donaldson, her father Robert Burcham.
Shirley is survived by her daughter Kelly Mutch of Warsaw, Mo. her daughter Shelly Smith of Branson, Mo her grandson Tyler Mutch of Warsaw, Mo. Shirley had three great grandsons Brendon, Carson, and Ryker. Her brother Cliff Burcham of Leawood, Ks. and her sister Barbara Howell of Buckner, Mo.
