Stuart Keith Wright, 46, died unexpectedly on July 8, 2021. Stuart was born on April 17, 1975 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Lynn and Hewitt. After graduating high school in North Kansas City, MO, Stuart attempted to comply with the institutional education expectations at the University of Missouri, but it didn’t take long for Stuart to realize that his learning style was more experiential. He left college, determined his own curriculum, and found jobs that he worked just long enough to save money for his journeys.
Traveling the world was a true passion of his, often taking him to exotic locations for extended periods of time. There he would explore off the beaten path and truly learn and appreciate the local cultures. Between adventures abroad, Stuart would always find opportunities to visit the amazing life-long friends he made across the country.
In recent years, Stuart financed his journeys by refurbishing houses. While he was particular about the properties and projects he took on, you wouldn’t know it by the intensity of the work he saw as feasible. Most of these projects started as an indoor camping setup, only to transform into the most beautiful craftsmanship upon completion. These skills were offered to others, Stuart was always willing to share his time and talents with his friends and family. Ultimately the latest project is what caused us to lose Stuart, due to a fall.
Stuart was greeted in the afterlife by his father, Hewitt and sister, Ashley. He is survived by his mother, Lynn and siblings, Preston, Kyle, and Casey. There is such a big void without his presence here with us.
Family and friends remember Stuart’s ability to intentionally say all the wrong things at exactly the right time, sharing his love through food and gifts, and his desire to be right by your side when you might need him the most.
As Stuart’s friends and family are spread across the globe, it makes a service difficult. He would hate it anyway. Let’s raise a nice glass of wine to cheers all the treasured memories we have of Stuart and his impact on our lives. If a glass won’t cover it, a bottle is encouraged. Stuart wouldn’t want you waiting to enjoy good wine but would ask that you order at least three appetizers to round out the experience.
In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting the hands-on difference one person can make with a contribution to Habitat to Humanity.
