He was born April 4, 1935 to Bryan “Bud” S. and Mary E. (Bruce) Rule. Tom graduated from Smithville High School, served in the Army and retired from AT&T in 1989 as a Data Processing Supervisor.
Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Rule; stepsons, Richard Goebel and Robert Goebel; his parents, brothers, Harold D. Rule, Paul Rule, Kenneth A. Rule; sisters, Mary L. Greer, Amy J. O'Connor, and Geneva P. Maxwell.
He is survived by his brother, Larry Rule of Phoenix, AZ; grand-daughters, Ginny (Stephen) Nyberg of Kansas City, MO, Dana (Brent) Worboys of Kansas City, MO, and Jamie (John) Ristaino of Little Rock, AR; great-grandchildren, Trent, Emma, Hannah and Franklin Worboys, Richard, Rogers and Abigail Nyberg and Olivia and Vera Ristaino; daughter in-laws, Jeanne (Paul) Tyson and Terri (Walt) Wise; and many nephews and nieces.
Tom’s past time included fishing, spending time with friends and family, keeping track of genealogy and collecting things. Tom will be missed by his family for his generosity and honesty.
Services will be held Saturday, January 9th at White Chapel Cemetery, Gladstone, MO in the Revelations Mausoleum, visitation 10:00 -10:30 AM and service at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to ALS Association or American Cancer Association.
