He was loved by many and will be remembered as a great story teller, who could talk to anyone. Born on September 18, 1946 in Arkansas, Wayne was the only boy of 7 children. His family eventually relocated to Kansas City where he spent his adolescent years into cars and motorcycles. He helped raise 5 children and “adopted” children through his kid’s friends. Spending his adult life working at Flemming Foods, where he met his wife, he eventually retired after 30 years in 1999. Later into retirement, he drove for Robert’s Chevrolet.
Wayne found joy in keeping himself busy on the farm, tending to his mules. Most of the week he took care to get his granddaughter on and off the bus for school. Dale Earnhardt was his favorite race car driver, having an extensive collection of memorabilia. He was content spending a simple, quiet life at home.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Deanne Myers, of 42 years; children Donna Parker (Buster), Larry Myers (Lisa Kinnunen) Erin Stocking (Ryan) and Amber Giese (Cody); grandchildren Shana Cox (Robbie), Ian Giese and Jordan Stocking; great grandson Hunter Marrant; 2 sisters.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Anna May Myers (Fuller); son Charles “Charlie” Myers; daughter-in-law Cindy Myers; granddaughter Jessica Mills; 4 sisters.
Pallbearers Larry Myers, Cody Giese, Ian Giese, Ryan Stocking, Buster Parker and Al Ryan.
