William Scott Ayres, 72, of Kansas City, MO passed away August 10, 2015. Survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy J. Ayres, and four children, Dina Ayres, Kansas City, MO, Sarah Spencer Herbst, Grapevine, TX, Neal Spencer (Holly), Spring, TX and Donna Spencer Kimbrell (Jack), Gladstone, MO. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, his parents, Betty and Tom Beard and sister, Rita Ayres of the Kansas City area. Proceeded in death by his son, William Randy Ayres. He served his country in the US Navy from 1961-1964. He worked at KCI Airport as supervisor of building repair retiring in 1993. Among his many interests were silversmithing, stained glass, SCUBA diving and competing in BBQ contests. His family holds fond memories of many family trips and camping at the lake. Services will be at 2:00pm, Friday, August 14, 2015 at White Chapel Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 30 minutes before the service. Family suggests memorial gifts to American Melanoma Foundation or American Diabetes Foundation.
