When she was younger, Amanda was involved in cheerleading and dance, and she played the flute in her school’s band. She made frequent trips to California with her mom, Lola, to visit her cousin Crystal and Aunt Lynn, who she loved dearly and had a special bond with. As she grew older, she developed a sincere devotion to being a provider for her family, alongside her dedication to following her dreams. She was extremely proud of her accomplishments, especially the business that she had self-started. Amanda’s perseverance shined when she became interested in working out, she had found herself boxing for a couple of years. She was a hard worker and continuously pushed herself to reach new limits.
When she wasn’t chasing her dreams, Amanda dedicated her time to her family. She was a proud older sister to Berlyn Dillard. Amanda always took Berlyn shopping, and out to movies, Amanda paid for her sister’s ice skating lessons. She was encouraging, loving, and wanted nothing but the best for those she loved. Amanda was also a younger sister herself, to AJ Woodhouse. She looked up to AJ and admired their strength. AJ taught Amanda how to read and write, and how to be headstrong. Amanda’s mom, Lola, was her best friend. Together, they would have long, deep conversations, travel to California, and support each other through everything. Amanda was a caring and loving friend, those who knew her always remember her outspoken personality, kindness, and her beautiful smile.
Amanda is survived by her mom Lola, her siblings Berlyn and AJ, her aunts Lynn and Blanca, her first love Jorge and many cousins whom she shared fond childhood memories with. She is also survived by the kind male figures in her life, being her step-father John Dillard, and her uncles Ricky Alvarado and George Alvarado. Her grandmother Martha Alvarado, whom she adored and encouraged healing after the passing of her grandfather, Gilberto Alvarado, who was also a father figure to Amanda.
Amanda’s story inspires compassion, generosity, and thoughtfulness. She will forever live in our hearts. Those who love her dearly miss Amanda.
