March 9, 1968 she was united in marriage to Robert J. Cowerd. They were blessed with one son Jonathan Louis. She spent 43 years teaching school. She also started volunteer work in 1964 with a visiting nurse program. This was mostly the elderly and children. She volunteered for many years in many areas.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, parents and sister Erma Birky.
She is survived by son Jonathan and his wife Lisa. Also 3 grand daughters Jennifer, Elissa and Brittany, so special to her, 3 nieces, 2 nephews. Family and friends were very special to her.
