Betty Jean Colburn

Betty Jean Colburn, born November 8, 1935 in Plainfield, New York to Edward S. Wilson and Florence Dorothy O’Dell. Betty passed away on June 11, 2024 at her daughter’s home in Clyde, Texas with family members present caring for her. Betty was preceded in death by her husband James Ross Colburn and her beloved chihuahuas Sam and Tia.

Betty is survived by her daughters Karen Colburn of Manchester, New Hampshire, Susan Templeton of Clyde, Texas, Jamie Colburn of Mesa, Arizona, Lorraine Heers of Scottsdale, Arizona, Jackie Colburn of Spokane, Washington, her brother Edward Wilson of Gilbertsville, New York and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Betty considered Phoenix, Arizona her home. Betty was a claims analyst for Aetna insurance and retired from Aetna in 1998. Betty had a passion for bowling. She moved from her home in Phoenix, Arizona in 1973 to Clyde, Texas in 2018. She made the move due to her health needs.

Funeral arrangements will be held Sunday, June 30, 2024 at the Chapel of the Chimes located at 7924 North 59th Avenue, Glendale, Arizona 85301. Family viewing at 10:30 am to 11:30 am, celebration of life service from 11:30 am to 12:30. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm at the West Resthaven Park Cemetery 6450 West Northern Avenue, Glendale, Arizona 85301. A reception will be held at Chapel of the Chimes at 1:45 P.M. following the graveside service. Please join us and share your favorite memories of Betty.
