It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Buford "Buff" Leon Chard on November 26, 2023. He died peacefully at home with family and friends at his side. Buff was born in Miller, South Dakota on July 5, 1945, to Harry and Sarah Chard, and moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1978.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Sarah Chard and three brothers, Lynden, Russell, and Harry Jr. Buff is survived by Nancy, his wife of 41 years, brother Darrell, and many nieces and nephews. Can't forget his two precious furry girl cats Susie Q and Zipper.
Buff worked as an autobody man for 45 years and was an instructor for the last 10 years before retirement in 2009. He loved drag racing, selling at the swap meet, yard selling, tinkering, and working in the garage. He was always willing to help friends and neighbors was very handy and could fix almost anything.
As per his wishes, there will be no funeral. A reception for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, at West Resthaven Funeral Home at 6450 W Northern Avenue, Glendale, AZ from 5 to 7 pm. Buff will be sorely missed.
