Carol Smith

Carol Elaine (Pottinger) Smith, age 84, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026. Carol was born on February 7, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Joseph Benjamin Pottinger and Helen Marie (Moore) Pottinger. She married Daniel Wayne Smith on November 18, 1960, and together they shared 55 years of marriage until his passing in 2015.

Carol is survived by her children, Jeff (Mary) and Tracy (Bill); her grandchildren through Jeff and Mary: Kaylee (RJ), Annika (Julian), and Lindsay (Jake); and her grandchildren through Tracy and Bill — Justine (Noah) and Larissa (Trey). She is also survived by three great-grandchildren through Justine and Noah: Jacob, Maxine, and David.

Additionally, Carol is survived by her sister-in-law Cheryl (Ken); Cheryl and Ken’s sons Adam (Michelle) and Jonathan (Whitney), and their daughter Elizabeth (Andy); as well as Adam and Michelle’s children Annabelle, Evelyn, and Maria, and Jonathan and Whitney’s children Drew, Will, and Sam.

We give thanks for her life, her faith, and the love she carried for her family.

A visitation will be held on February 2, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at West Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 6450 West Northern Avenue, Glendale, Arizona. The funeral service will follow at the same location, starting at 1:00 pm.

The committal service will take place at Resthaven Park Cemetery, also located at 6450 West Northern Avenue, Glendale, Arizona, at 2:00 pm on February 2, 2026. Carol Smith's final resting place will be at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
