Charles "Mac" McGrory

Charles “Mac” McGrory of Sun City, Arizona passed away on July 29, 2015 in Glendale, Arizona. He was born in Louann, Arkansas on July 13, 1927 to Thelma and Charles McGrory Sr. He is predeceased by his wife, Mary, and his parents.

Mac and Mary were married on January 20, 1956 in LaMarque, Texas. They were married 59 ½ years. Mac also served in the Aleutian Islands during WWII in the Army Air Corps. He is survived by two sons and their wives, Patrick and Judy McGrory and John and Diana Botkin, and one daughter, Peggy English, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. Mac retired from GE/Honeywell in Phoenix, Arizona.

Memorial services for both Mac and Mary will be held Monday, August 31, 2015 at 10:00am at Christ’s Church of the Valley, 7007 West Happy Valley Road. Peoria, Arizona.

In lieu of flowers, the McGrory family asks that memorial donations be made to Sam’s Class Scholarship Fund at Christ’s Church of the Valley.

Mary I. McGrory of Sun City, Arizona passed away on June 10, 2015 in Glendale, Arizona. She was born in Trinity, Texas on January 5, 1924 to Patty and Milton Ivins. She is predeceased by her parents and her brother John Hugh Ivins.

Mary is survived by her husband of 59 ½ years, Charles (Mac) McGrory. They were married on January 20, 1956 in LaMarque, Texas. She is also survived by her daughter, Peggy English; her two sons, John C. Botkin and Patrick McGrory; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and her sister Shirley Arledge in Texas City, TX.

She retired from Western Electric/Lucent in Phoenix, Arizona and was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Services for Mary will be held at a later date and, in lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Telephone Pioneers of America (www.telecompioneers.org).

The family greatly appreciates the love and support given to Mac and Mary by the staff at Sarah’s Place on the Glencroft Campus in Glendale, Arizona, where they make everyone who stays there feel like they are at home.
