Christy Yim Donovan

A loving wife and mother, Christy is survived by her husband of 22 years, Ben; their three children, Connor (18), Ava (17), and Dylan (14); her parents, Barbara and Daniel Yim of Glendale; as well as her brother and his family, Geoff Yim, Brooke Pace, and Cruz Yim of Los Angeles.

Christy was born on October 12, 1970, in Salinas, California. Shortly thereafter her family settled in southern California and then in 1985 they moved to Arizona, which would become Christy’s home.

In 1992, Christy graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in business administration. She went on to graduate from the Phoenix College Dental Hygiene Program.

Christy’s true passion was her family. Her childhood dream was to be a wife and mother—and she was excellent at both. Though her husband and children are heartbroken, she gifted them with strength, laughter, and memories of a woman who loved fiercely.

Her days were too few, but Christy lived them well. She was an avid tennis player, and for many years, she was captain of the Women’s Interclub Tennis League as well as the Arizona Tennis Association. She was also captain of various U.S. Tennis Association leagues and a member of the Arrowhead Country Club board.

Christy left behind a huge community of people who loved her, and she loved them, in return.

A celebration of life for Christy is scheduled for 10 a.m. on September 3, 2022, at Vineyard Church in North Phoenix: 6250 W. Peoria Avenue, Glendale, AZ, 85302.
