Our Father, Clarence Daryl Jackson, 61, of Phoenix, Arizona went on to be with the Lord on November 6, 2022. Clarence was born on Febuary 4, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Clarence Jackson and Annie Ruth Jackson (Caver) He attended School at Central High in Detroit, graduating class of 1981. Upon graduation, he decided to see the world from another angle. February 3, 1982 he joined the US Army as a Calvary Scout / Infantry Man. Joining the Armed forces would prove to be an excellent life decision as it opened many doors, not just career wise but life wise.
His career as an Infantry soldier led him to Texas. There he met his loving wife, our Mom, Sherlyn J. Jackson. They married July 21, 1984. Now a military family, he traveled the world with his wife and two daughters. Taking in the sights, foreign foods and collecting various items to commemorate his trips.
Amongst the travel, Clarence was deployed to Kuwait to defend during Operation Desert Storm. Though he did not want to leave his family for such an extended time, he knew duty called. Many letters, pictures and poorly connected phone conversations later, he returned home safely. He had many stories to tell about that deployment. It was truly an eye opening experience for him. One he’d never forget.
He enjoyed Karate, Cartoons, food and travel. Family was a huge part of his joy. He would of given anything for his wife and kids. The holidays were some of the most memorable times with him. He would literally work a second job doing security just to insure his family had an overflow for Christmas. This is just one of the things that made him our real life “Superman”. Clarence was a provider. A Father in every since of the word. His hugs and laughter, his smile and words of prayer will forever ring in our hearts. His dedication to his family and unwavering love for God set the standards above normal for all those who had the joy of knowing him. He will be missed beyond measure. After a life well lived we say…..
Clarence D. Jackson is survived by his daughters Tiffany N. Benson (Bradley) and An Jeanette R. Conley-Jackson (Quontica) , brothers and sisters, Whitney, Cortney, Clarencia, Janet, Deborah, Delilah, Barbara and Leon Jackson as well as a host of Nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Annie Ruth Jackson, his siblings Clarence Jackson Jr, Rosalyn Jackson, Philip Jackson and Beatrice Jackson. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Sherlyn J. Jackson.
We are thankful for his life, his love, his legacy.
