Cynthia Michelle Garcia, 55, passed away on August 21, 2025, surrounded by her family in Gilbert, Arizona. She is survived by her children, Christopher, Rosemarie, Leanora, and Lucy; her parents, Leanora and Cecil; and her brother, Jeff. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Joshua.
Cindy was born on June 13, 1970, in San Diego, California, to Leanora and Cecil. She grew up with her brother, Jeff, and later became a devoted mother. She gave birth to her four oldest children in San Diego before relocating with her family to Glendale, Arizona, where she continued to build a life rooted in love and resilience.
As a single mother of four, Cindy pursued her education at Glendale Community College, earning her Associate’s Degree in Psychology. She began working as a receptionist at The Stratford, an assisted living facility, and through dedication and perseverance, rose to the position of Executive Assistant Manager. Cindy was deeply proud of both her career and the family she created. She later remarried Dennis Micelli and was blessed with her youngest daughter, Lucy.
Cindy will be remembered for her kindness, patience, and thoughtfulness. She had a gift for making others feel cared for and welcomed into her home—always ready to receive the lost and weary. An animal lover from the very beginning, she also opened her heart and home to countless pets.
Cindy loved music and often quoted her favorite band, Rush. She enjoyed crocheting blankets, hats, and toys, as well as making soap. She was also proud to be a “big nerd,” with a love for Doctor Who, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Adventure Time, and Sherlock.
In 2021, Cindy was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. She bravely fought her illness with courage and determination, undergoing four years of treatments while continuing to cherish every moment with her family. Her unwavering love for her children and her faith carried her through difficult times.
Cindy’s final days were spent in the company of her loved ones. Though her body grew weak, her spirit remained steadfast. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, resilience, and love.
Her family and friends will forever remember her as a loving mother, a compassionate daughter and sister, a gentle spirit, and an adoring grandmother. With six grandchildren and a seventh on the way, Cindy’s dream of having a big family came true—and her love will continue to live on in each of them.
As Gandalf once said in The Lord of the Rings: “End? No, the journey does not end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass. And then you see it. White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.”
Though she has gone home to be with the Lord, Cindy’s love endures here on earth through her family and all who cherished her.
