Daniel was born in Illinois where he spent most of his childhood. As a teenager, his family moved to Flagstaff, Arizona where he played football and graduated from Flagstaff High School in 1978. After relocating to Phoenix, Dan helped his parents run the family Tasty Freeze business. In his later years, Dan went on to study Accounting at Glendale Community College.
For over 35 years, Dan worked as a distributor for Oroweat Bread, providing his community with a delicious array of baked goods. He took pride in his work and developed a reputation for his speed, diligence, and hard work ethic. Additionally, he worked as a novice carpenter joyfully building furniture for his family throughout the years.
Daniel is survived by his wife of over 25 years, Cindy Brooks, his brothers, sister, children, and grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents Joseph Glen and Doris Anne Brooks.
Dan was known for his devotion to God, his church, and his family. His enduring faith was an inspiration to those around him. He will always be warmly remembered for his time spent playing board games and cards with his grandchildren and for his love of the Blues and Classic Rock. He enjoyed watching a good baseball game, his well-worn cowboy boots, and a great piece of pie!
