He was born in Globe, Arizona on May 12, 1926 to the late Fredrico and Feliz (Gutierrez) Rodriguez.
Mingo worked as a dairyman at Websters, Meadow Gold, and retired from Luke Air Force Base. After retiring, he became a proud crossing guard in the Cartwright School District.
He was an Army Veteran serving alongside his brother Robert Rodriguez during WWII.
Mingo married Emelia Aviles on March 29, 1947; they shared 56 years of marriage prior to her passing on March 24, 2003.
He is survived by three children Jess (Margaret) Rodriguez, Ruby Castro & Susan Alonso, seven grandchildren Rick, James, Melissa, Michelle, Tracy, Tina & Bianca, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mingo was preceded in death by a daughter Lisa “Lala” Rodriguez, son-in-law Jimmy Castro, grandson Angel Alonso III; brothers Robert Rodriguez, Pedro Rodriguez, Fredrico Rodriguez Jr., & Jose Rodriguez; and sisters Carmen Rodriguez, & Natalia Mata.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday, September 28, 2020 from 4-6PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale. Funeral services will be private due to COVID restrictions.
