Uncle Don I wish we could have shared more stories together. Sorry for that. My best memories where you singing at the VFW with pat at my side. Of course your brother was always there. His favorite water hole. He always loved you as of all of us in Washington state. I Love you say hi to your brothers and sister and my mom. Till we meet again Love Steve Andrews. 

Don and Betty was close friends for years with Jim and I, from Illinois to Arizona.  We laugh a lot, shared concerns and cried together. He is now in heaven with Jim and Gene.   My thought are with Betty and family.           Pat Montgomery                             

Kim, Pat and I would go to the "community center" a lot back in the day.  The parents (I think) took turns picking us up when it closed.  One night it was Mr. Andrews turn and I believe we had Kims brothers with us so the car was full.  I was the last to get in and had one foot in the car when Mr. Andrews started to take off.  He didn't know I hadn't gotten in and I ended up using the car like a skate board one foot in and one foot pushing the ground.  Everyone was yelling for him to stop.  It was the FUNNIEST THING EVER....  No one was hurt and poor Mr Andrews felt bad, but he was such a Sweetie it was all Good.   One of the nicest and sweetest parents around.  He really cared about his kids and their friends and showed it all the time.  

 I met Don way back in the early1980s ...
a shy young woman from a small town in Germany.... 
He made me feel welcome in the family right away.

I  loved Don’s kind gentle personality and the patients  in explaining the world to his grandkids .

He and Betty were a real good team 
A inspiration for all of us.

I see a lot of Don in his great grandson 
here in Germany , the same passion for Musik , the Looks and the soft spoken personality .

Wich is comforting to know that one is never gone for good ..... we live on in our Children...

My Uncle Don was the youngest of Bernard (Barney) and Esther Andrews children.  The oldest sibling was my mother Ruth (Andrews) Bailey, then Bernard Andrews, Raymond Andrews, Howard Andrews,  Clarence Andrews and Arthur Andrews.  They all grew up in Lakewood WI.   His maternal grandparents came over on a ship from Norway many years ago and it landed at Ellis Island.  They also eventually made their home in Lakewood WI.   I remember my Uncle Don fondly while growing up as being a quiet gentle man.   What a blessing that he lived to be 82 as my mother (Ruth) lived to be 87.   May God bless each one of you as you remember him.  I am sure he loved all of you very much.

Grandpa always enjoyed baby cuddles and singing them to sleep. (Sometimes he joined in on the zs)

I will always love my Dad,   I helped and learned from him on many
Projects and upgrades on both houses we lived in growing up,
I loved that he played in a band and would go see him play
When I could,  I would help him hook up his PA equipment 
Each week at the VFW,  I learned to play guitar,  from his influence 
Growing up around music,  He helped me learn and fix the
Delta 88 1969 Oldsmobile,  that broke down very often,
He influenced me to learn Electronics and fix electronic equipment 
To component level,  I then moved to computer network field,
My dad worked in the same field,  so we had a lot in common,
I would see him a lot,  when I was a adult because I lived very
Close to his house,  I think about him a lot and have dreams with
Him in them,  He did have a lot of influence on me over the years,
His later years before he died we didn't talk much because of
Some problems,   I will always have him in my heart,  and look forward to seeing him again in heaven,
I will always love him!!!


I’m very happy my Grandpa got the chance to know my kids and be a part of their lives.  We love and will miss you very much! 

Mr Andrews was the kindest man I ever met!  I remember one day Kim and I were singing and dancing in her room and he opened the door laughing and told us to tone it down.  I’m sure he meant me because I couldn’t sing!  Even though I haven’t seen him for years I can still picture his smile and remember how good he was to me when I spent time with his family!  (I was there a lot)

Grandpa,

you cannot imagine how sad we were as we got news about your passing... it breaks our hearts but we know you are up there smiling down on us!

We were so happy that we were able to see you one more time and that you were able to meet your new great grandson... and Boy, did he have a blast with you!!!  Riding on your walker, was his favorite ! 

I am sure he found that pretty NIFTY :-)

You were such an amazing man and did so much in your life. 

I loved when you told me stories of me when I was a little girl, especially the one with the caterpillars..... 
Or when you told stories about my dads childhood.... those made me laugh! 
I loved that you loved to explain things... a lot .. :-) 

I remember when I came to visit the very first time after being in Germany for almost 20 years... I was so excited to see you and when we got to your house late from the airport , you opened the door after staying up very late to greet me. We hugged as if we did not have that gap of 20 years. I felt like a was home.

I am sad that you are not with us here anymore, but you will always be in our memory and for sure in our hearts!!!

My grandfather was more than just an awesome grandparent, he was also like a dad to me and my brother growing up. We came from a split home and my grandparents are the ones who stepped in and helped take care of us even though he didnt have to. There are no words I can express on the gratitude I have for him. He will always be remembered and missed. 

Grandpa Andrews: I’m so sorry I didn’t get to speak to you more. Was happy to talk to you on the phone when my Dad came to visit 2 years ago.  I never knew that would have been the last time I talked to you. I remember your visits when I was young. I remember you lifting me up on your shoulders at Ponderosa. Karen will miss you as will I. Hope you’re well in Heaven. Looking forward to seeing you there. 

I have many great memories and experiences with my grandfather. I learned how to complete projects when the instructions didn't cover all the problems you may run into. He taught me how to drive. He enjoyed every second of time with his great grand kids, (Kairi, Yuna, Felicity, and Leonidas) and my wife ( Tarin ) whom miss him alot. He would give his opinion without fear, and loved to learn new things. I learned a lot about computers and music from his experiences. He welcomed anyone I brought over to his home as if they were family. He took me in without question, and I will miss him very much.

Grandpa was a kind and loving man. He always made me and my sister feel special with every visit. Like him I share the passion for music and anytime he got to see me play guitar, sing or play the keyboard for him he always lit up. When I was little my mom would tell me how much I look like grandpa. I would get mad..."I don't look like a man" I would say. But now of course I understand what she meant and I am proud to share resemblance to such an amazing man. I love you grandpa and everytime I play a song and sing, I know you will be right there with me. I will make sure my kids will know who you were. You will never be forgotten. You will always be in our hearts 💕

I have a lot of nice memories with my Dad.  He taught me so much over my lifetime.  From playing Golf to teaching me basic house maintenance skills. There just wouldnt be enough room here to mention everything.   I loved helping him with all of his projects around the house when I was young.  I feel I was so lucky because over the years there just wasn't anything I couldn't do and I owe that to my Dad! A great Father and mentor that I love and will always miss!!

Donald N. Andrews passed away peacefully on March 10, 2020. He was 82 years old. Donald is survived by his wife, Betty, of 52 years. His children are: Kimberly Harrington (Craig) and their daughter Lessa, Daniel Andrews and his children Karen and Jeremy, Christopher Andrews (Tommie) and their children Cory, Aimee (Eddie), Jennifer, Colin and Stephanie (Ben), Patrick Andrews and his children Patrick Jr. and Deanna. Donald had 23 great grand children.
