

Edith M (Bayer) Wanamaker, 95, of Glendale, Arizona went home peacefully to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Edith was born in New Cumberland, West Virginia to Gladys (Langdon) and Darrell E. Bayer on August 2, 1926. After high school, Edith completed nursing school and became a registered nurse. While living in Ohio she worked in an OB/GYN office. She met and married James Wanamaker in 1949, and they had three children. In1959, they moved their family to Glendale, Arizona. Edith became the nurse at their neighborhood elementary school. She was also active in her church, Christ Presbyterian Church. After retirement, Edith and Jim enjoyed traveling and RVing around Arizona and throughout the United States.
Edith leaves behind her children, Cathy Patterson (John), Debra Frazee (Jay), and daughter-in-law Elva Wanamaker, grandchildren, Holly (Jason), Elisa (Caleb), Jenna (Patrick) and James (Brooke), and 8 great grandchildren.
Edith is preceded in death by her husband, James, son James, and grandson Paul, her parents, Gladys and Darrell, her brother William and sister Dee.
Edith will be laid to rest with her husband, James at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale, Arizona.
