

Gary Wayne Marcum, 64, of Peoria passed away on March 17, 2017. He was born to the late Frank and Oleta Marcum on November 14, 1954 in Glendive, Montana. He was named Gary Wayne by his older brothers Jerry and Duane. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Duane. Gary is survived by Linda, his wife of 38 years, daughters Meghan and Taira, grandchildren Connor and Caleb, and his brothers Jerry, Derrell, and Greg.
He had a drive for auto body restoration, even opening his own shop called Arizona’s 1st Class Auto Body in Peoria. He worked there for several years before working and retiring from MetLife after 13 years as an insurance adjuster.
Gary was a man who had many talents and hobbies. His love for auto body restoration was not only at work. He restored a 1968 GTO from the ground up, and was even one of the founders of the Arizona Collision Association. He also had a Prowler that he liked to take a joyride in from time to time. Gary found joy in cooking, barbecuing and gardening. He loved spending time in the mountains and had a passion for Alaska. Gary enjoyed watching movies and listening to music from anything to country all the way to gospel. He also held a 6th degree black belt in Jiujitsu & Rokudan. Gary was known to be a handyman that could fix pretty much anything but above all; he was a Christian, Husband and Father who cherished his family.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, March 27, 2017 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at West Resthaven Funeral Home 6450 W. Northern Avenue in Glendale. Additional visitation will be held the following day Tuesday, March 28, 2017 from 10:00am to 10:30am at First Southern Baptist Church at Sahuaro Ranch 10250 N. 59th Avenue in Glendale with funeral service immediately following at 10:30am. Gary will be laid to rest following services at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City.
