

On May 29, 2023, Glen Allen Bruning passed away at the age of 78. Glen was born on January 3, 1945 in Highland, Kansas to Robert and Ruth Bruning. He grew up in Robinson, Kansas and attended school kindergarten through high school in Robinson. Glen attended the University of Kansas his freshman year of college, transferred to Pittsburg State University for two years, then transferred to Kansas State University to complete his degree in Architecture in 1970. Glen married Joyce Serra on June 3, 1967. They moved to Manhattan, Kansas, until they finished their degrees.
Glen was a jack-of-all-trades and could fix almost anything. He had a knack for building things, including two garages, and a few decks. Glen was always puttering on projects big and small. He had the right tool for every job and was quick to lend a hand to others. He enjoyed all sport and loved pickle ball after retiring to Sun City, Arizona. He also enjoyed all woodworking and tinkering with his 1929 Model A and his 1926 Buick.
Glen worked his career in commercial construction in Omaha, Nebraska from 1971 through his retirement in 2011. He finished his career as part owner of Johnson Drywall from 1991 through 2011.
Glen was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth, father, Robert and grandson Jadyn Nickolas Spencer. He is survived by his wife Joyce, two children Angela Gannon & Stacey Kranz and five grandchildren Hailey Spencer Hopkins, Kade Gannon, Tristan Gannon, McKenzie Kranz & Macie Kranz.
