Irene Ann Comer (Holloway) Comer, 73, of Glendale, Arizona left this earth to join her husband in heaven on October 12, 2019. Irene was born in Queens Hospital in Jamaica, New York to Irene A. (Majersky) and William Holloway one of 4 children. Irene was only 18 when her father passed so her mother and siblings relocated to California. Irene met and married the late Charles Lorne Comer in 1966 just before he was drafted into the Army. Irene and Charles went on to have 5 children. The family relocated to Arizona in June of 1994. Irene had a career as a beautician but she was most proud of being a homemaker and taking care of children. She was a great baker and loved to entertain, especially on Christmas and Thanksgiving. She would always decorate the house and the family has memories of the Thanksgiving turkey and sugar cookies. Irene was also fond of her hot tea and yellow flowers. Irene also loved music, but her favorite was the nostalgic 50’s and 60’s, along with her love of Betty Boop.
Irene is survived by her children Penny, Christine, Randy, Robbie and Meagan; grandchildren John, Christy, Gary Jr, Shannon, David, LeiLani, Michael, Kayla, Alahna, Tyler, Gordon, Tommy, Matthew, & Joshua; great grandchildren Marrisa, Arianna, Mariah, Robert, Angelo, Alyssa, Cassy, Brook, Ryder, Tanieyah, Tray, Audrina, Celeste, Genesis, Zane, Jayson, Mackenzey, haylee, Autum, Sophia, Olivia and Micah; and her brother Bill (Bev).
Irene is preceded by her love Charles and her parents.
Services for Irene will be held on Thursday October 24, 2019 at 11am at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary located at 7924 N. 59th Ave. Glendale, Arizona 85301 (SW corner of 59th Ave. and Northern). A procession will start at 1pm from Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary to the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona following the visitation for a 2pm Graveside service.
