Now it's almost been a year.  Springtime is here, and I remember how much you loved the flowers and beautiful weather.  Stef had visions of you in a dress, on a swing, singing a little song.  We all have so many wonderful memories of you, Mom.  So many times things will happen, and for a moment, I want to call you and tell you....then I have to collect myself, and remind myself that it'll have to wait.  Thank you so much for the big hug a while back.  I'm so glad you are finally at peace. Paint all the pretty flowers for us, and I'll know you are smiling.  Love you always!!   Pam

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you & whispered come with me. With tearful eyes, we watched and saw you pass away, although we love you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest..God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the BEST!!! Merry Christmas, MOM!!

The holidays are approaching, and I know how much you loved them.  This will be the first year you're not with us to celebrate. Sure wish I could give you a big hug.  I'll be thinking of you on Thanksgiving, and your birthday, and Christmas......and always.  I found a letter from you the other day, and in closing you said your heart will always be wrapped around me.  I take comfort in that.

A Piece of Art
From the comfort of you mothers womb,
You emerged a blank canvas, waiting for 
the world to paint you a picture,
but the universe could hold not brush
to you, only you could choose which 
colors you would be;
A soft blue for humble, open arms,
green, a darker shade, for determination 
and self-sufficiency,
orange for creativity, and quiqueness,
and red, bright and inviting for all.
The love that spilled over the edges of your pallet. Red would drip onto the canvas's of all those around you,

I'm sorry I did not get to spend more time with your mother, but I know by the way she is loved by her children, she must have been a special person and devoted mother.

When I met Jeanne she was so personable, smiling and she made me laugh. How fortunate you were to have a mother like her. God bless you and Jeanne Marie Smith!

Dear David, Pam, Patty, Sue and Charlie, Your mother was such a grand lady, larger than life. Always kind, always compassionate. So vivacious! She will be missed dearly but know that each and every one of you carry a little piece of her inside you. What a legacy. So many memories not only of your Mother and my Sister but of growing up with all of you.  Memories as far back as Hingham and Duxbury beach and the wonderful summers spent with her and all of you.  She lived a full life and knew how to have fun and make those around her have fun.  As the youngest brother of the oldest sister of nine, she will be greatly missed by all but never forgotten. I know you will all be celebrating her life the way she would have wanted and I wish I could be there with you all.

To all the Smith family. You know my heart goes out to you in many ways. Dave and Jeanne were my second parents. They were the parents you could talk to about anything that you couldn't talk about with your own parents. I could say anything to them and feel comfortable. I spent alot of time with Jeanne talking about everything under the sun while she was cooking a small steak or making one of her fabulous deserts. She never stopped. She was the true energizer bunny.Jeanne always liked our music and loved to sing along and yes, sometimes even dance. I remember her smile the last time I saw her and thats what I will miss the most. I love you Jeanne.

Jeanne Marie, If you wanted to know about what life was all about, all you had to do was spend one day with you.  So full of life and vigor you were an inspiration to all who had come to know you.  I am truly blessed for having that opportunity.  You will be sadly missed, but never will you be forgotten.

Dear Moms, 
You were a big part of my childhood memories growing up in Phoenix.  I spent as much time at your house as I did at my own.  I ate more meals at your house than at my own.  You are the best cook!  You made great pasta and Italian sausage dinners.  You also were always running around fast and furious and no one could get stuff done like you!  You always loved to dance and entertain and got everyone else to sing and dance at almost every family gathering.  You made beautiful art.  I have several of your mini oil paintings and I treasure them all.  You took great care of Pops and your children.  In return, they loved you dearly and were there for you, too.  You lived with integrity and kindness.  I wish there were more people out there like you. You always gave more than you took and wanted to make things special for everyone.  It never went unnoticed. You are so loved and appreciated! You will be missed and remembered fondly by all those who had the blessing to walk in your light.  I love you dearly, Moms!  I hope you and Pops have connected in heaven by now and are enjoying a nice meal together before you head out to the Caliente Club to go dancing!  Love, Linda

Pam & Family, I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. She was such a warm, sweet & bubbly person. From wedding showers, to baby showers,& New Year's Eve Parties, she was always there with a smile on her face. I remember her affectionally calling Pam "Pammy", and she & your dad dancing at my wedding.  She'll always be there in your heart. Hold onto your memories, and know that your friends are close by. Pam :   I was so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I remember her well from when you lived in Weymouth. I feel like i knew her better because of all your stories about her and your dad.  Thankfully you have so many wonderful memories of her and photos and this will help you get through the rough times ahead.  She has gone Home to her final resting place and now she is at peace. Remember that she is not alone. She is safe in the arms of our Lord and has many friends and family there with her to welcome her home.
