He was born Jerrold Howard Rankin on May 9, 1938 in Pewaukee, Wisconsin to the late Howard and Georgia Rankin.
Jerry served with the United States Air Force.
He married Doris Magliocco on December 7, 1962; they have shared almost 59 years of marriage.
Jerry worked for over 30 years in the Cartwright School District retiring as a Principal.
He was an avid bird watcher, always after his “bucket list” bird. Jerry played golf for many years with his good buddies. He kept up with sports and enjoyed watching games. Jerry lived and breathed the Packers.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife Doris, daughter Kristen, two sisters Shirley (Ron) Clegg & Fay (Dwight) Bennett, sister-in-law Jan Ragan and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Howard Ragan.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 10AM at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5600 W Palmaire Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale, AZ. The family asks that memorials be directed to the Grace Lutheran School, Student Assistance Fund.
