He was born on December 14, 1937 in Salem, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Sara Eans.
John moved to Arizona as a young man and went on the join the Army where he served in Korea for over a year.
He married Nora Phillips on March 21, 1969; they shared over 35 years of marriage prior to her passing on September 28, 2004.
John worked for the United States Post Office as a carrier in the Sun City and Sun City West area for over 30 years.
He is survived by three children Edward (Sharon) Eans, Diane Snoderly & Larry Eans, six grandchildren Joshua, Justin, Peyton, Sarah, Joyanna & Riley and seven great grandchildren Elliott, Henry, Caroline, Recker, Brielle, Sophia & Bennett.
In addition to his wife and parents John was preceded in death by his sister Kay Machamer.
A celebration of John’s life will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at 3pm at Prepare the Way International Church, 18777 N. 32nd Street, Phoenix, AZ 85050.
He will be buried, with military honors, next to Nora, on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 2pm in Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W. Northern Road, Glendale, AZ 85301
