John Edwin King Jr, 65, of Phoenix, Arizona entered into heaven on September 13, 2019 in his home with family at his side. John was born on July 4, 1954 in Phoenix, Arizona to Betty (Jordan) and John Edwin King Sr., one of 3 children. John grew up in Phoenix and graduated from Central High School. While attending high school he also completed vocational training at Phoenix Union Vocation School for Advanced Automotive Engine Building and Tune Ups. After graduating, John joined the Navy.
While serving in the United States Navy Seabees for 4 years, John, received a "Letter of Appreciation" from his commander for "Dedication and Superior performance" and The National Service Defense Service Medal. John served his country in Cuba, Japan, Puerto Rico. John left active duty in August of 1977, and continued for 2 more years as a reserve before returning home from the military.
After leaving the military he landed, "what became a 42 year relationship" with K & H Electric, where he remained dedicated to the end.
John met the Love of his life, his best friend, and his everything, Lois, in 1985, and they were married on June 6, 1986. John had two children his son, the late Jeffrey King and his daughter Krystal King and 2 grandchildren Marissa & Joshua King who he leaves behind.
John loved the outdoors and all it holds. He loved riding ATV's, camping and fishing, which his did while he was hunting elk, deer, javelina and he looked forward to dove season. John collected coins, guns and baseball cards. He played golf very well and even had a hole-in-one. He loved horseracing and betting on the ponies.
John leaves behind his wife Lois Ann Burish; daughter Krystal King; grandchildren Marissa and Joshua King; and his sister Angel King; sister-in-law Lori Burish; brother and sister in laws Steve & Suzan Burish and Paul & Cathi Burish; step mother Sandy King; nieces and nephews and lots of cousins. He is preceded in heaven by his grandmother "Mama King"; his parents John and Betty King; his son Jeff King; and brother Gary King.
Visitation services will be held Saturday September 28, 2019 at 10:00 am at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary; service to start at 11:00 am. An interment will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery located at Cave Creek Road and Pinnacle Peek in Phoenix on Monday September 30, 2019 at 10:30 am with a procession starting from Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary at 9:00 am.
