Linda J. Morris passed away on September 18, 2025, at the age of 81. She was born in Winslow, AZ on May 5, 1944 to Clarence and Betty Doile. She was so proud of being an Arizona native. She graduated from Winslow High School in 1962, she met Lanny Morris that same summer while he was serving in the Air Force and they married after 2 weeks of courtship. Richard was born in February of 1963, and she settled into the young family life. The couple moved to Albuquerque shortly after to be near his family. In 1967 she gave birth to a daughter, Kerrie.
Linda’s parents passed away in 1971 and 1972 when she was in her 20’s. She missed them terribly and always talked about them. The family moved to Arizona in the year 1975 to be close to her sister Diana, where she started her career working for Safeway as a cashier. In 1980, Lanny and Linda divorced, leaving her to raise her 2 kids on her own. She continued to work for Safeway and volunteered as the store union representative until she retired.
In her spare time, Linda enjoyed painting, crafting, feeding the neighborhood birds (hummingbirds were her favorite) and working on her family tree. Her research of our family tree gave her great pride, and she made many friends in the process. She was extremely proud of the fact that she qualified to become a member of the DAR (daughters of the American revolution). Linda was a firm believer in donating blood, earning her 10-gallon plaque in February of 1996 and continued to donate blood whenever she was able. She believed that giving blood was giving the gift of life to others when they were in need. She was also a believer in organ donation if that time was to ever come.
Linda is survived by her loving children Richard and Kerrie, Grandchildren Eric, Kyle (wife Haley) and Sedona, her great grandchildren Leon, Cerafina, Gryffon and Adam, and Susie Hansen (former daughter in law).
Linda is preceded in death by her sister Diana Schaff.
Linda will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Rick's Residence, located at 4023 South 183rd Lane, Goodyear, Arizona, on October 11, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
