

Lupe joined the Navy at the age of 18 and served from 1944 to 1946 aboard the USS Haskel and discharged as a Seaman 2nd Class. He received the Victory Medal, Pacific Star and the Asiatic Philippines Liberation Star in WWII. When he returned home he married Carmen Moreno and lived in Tolleson, Arizona for many years. Lupe worked laying concrete for construction companies until he was in a sever accident in 1981 forcing him to retire. They moved to Phoenix then eventually settled in Camp Verde and enjoyed retirement years. Lupe was the first in Arizona to be able to visit the memorials in Washington, DC including the WWII Memorial Wall using the Virtual Glasses as an Honor Flight recipient. Lupe was not able to attend in person so the Honor Flight brought it to him.
Lupe enjoyed taking walks, watching sports on TV especially the Suns basketball, the Diamondbacks baseball & the Cardinals football, going to casinos (where he very often won), visiting with his grand children, many great-grand children and many great-great grand children.
Lupe moved to Surprise recently where he passed away with family by his side.
He was preceded in death by wife Carmen and son Guadalupe (Nick) Trinidad. Lupe is survived by daughters Eleanor Trinidad, Celia Bonillas, Dora Alicia Trinidad, sons Leonard Trinidad, Carlos Trinidad (wife June), Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and Great-Great Grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
A visitation will be held at West Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 6450 West Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301, on December 15, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
The funeral service will follow at the same venue from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
The committal service will take place at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm on December 15, 2025.
