Lydia Christina Gonzales

Lydia Christina Gonzales passed away too soon, on February 24, 2025, at the age of 79. She was born in Tempe, Arizona on October 2, 1945, to Jose and Maria Cuevas. She was the youngest of five, with older brothers Arnold and Jesse, and older sisters Rosie and Delia.

Lydia is known for being joyful, loving, intelligent, and the best mother and Nana anyone could ever ask for. She loved to spend time with her family always. Her hobbies included traveling, gardening, camping, going to college football games, and having family cookouts. She did everything with the love of her life, Joe Gonzales. She obtained her college degree at Glendale Community College, and worked at Honeywell for many years, excelling in her role in accounting. She and Joe were blessed to retire one day apart in 2005, which allowed them to spend more time with family and each other.

Lydia is survived by her loving husband Joe, son Fred, daughter in-law Marcie, grandchildren Christina and Anthony, and 5 great-grandchildren Julianna, Max, Grace, Luke, and Ethan.

Lydia is preceded in death by her beloved son, Rick and sister Delia.

Lydia will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

A visitation will be held on March 14, 2025, at 11:00 am at West Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 6450 West Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ, 85301, United States.

Following the visitation, a rosary service will take place at the same location at 12:30 pm with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm.

A funeral Mass will be held on March 27, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church, located at 6180 W. Utopia Rd.,Glendale, AZ 85308. A graveside service will take place on the same day at 12:30 pm at Resthaven Park Cemetery, located at 6450 West Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ, 85301, United States.
