Manuel Sr. & Sally Montaño, both of Avondale, Arizona passed away together on January 28, 2021. Manuel Jesus Montaño Sr. was born on December 24, 1949 to Anthony and Aurora Montaño. Sally Navarro Montaño was born on June 10, 1952 to Ramon and Annie Navarro.
The couple met as teenagers when Manuel came home on leave during the Vietnam War. They remained in contact while he bravely served our country, and eloped upon his return. They joined their hands in marriage on January 23, 1971 in Imperial, CA before sharing the last 50 years of devotion toward each other. The young couple began growing their family with the births of their six children, and family remained the most important thing to them for the rest of their lives.
They were both huge Arizona Cardinals fans. Manny enjoyed playing golf, boxing, and going to yard sales to find treasures. Sally enjoyed shopping, bingo, and crocheting. She called him Darlin' and he planted her roses. Their love for each other and family always filled the room, and the lifetime of memories they've shared will last forever. Manuel enjoyed a career as a postal worker for 27 years and Sally was a proud homemaker.
