

Mary lived the first 22 years of her life in the Chicago area before moving to Phoenix, Arizona in 1978.
Most of Mary’s working life was spent as a checker at Jewel Food Stores in Chicago and later at Fry’s in Phoenix. She was the “fastest checker in the West” and customers flocked to her line.Mary later worked as a teacher aide at Sevilla Elementary school in Phoenix for several years.
She was an artist, and soon after moving to Phoenix, entered the Arizona State Fair and won a First Place Blue Ribbon award for a mosaic painting made of thousands of tiny eggshells that took her about two years to complete. Mary sang alto beautifully in the choir at St. Louis the King for many years and performed in church talent shows and fundraisers. She was truly gifted and could harmonize with anything on the fly!
Mary was a loving and devoted daughter to her mother, Betty, and was the primary care giver for her mother for many years until her death in 2015. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and truly loved everyone!!
Mary will be deeply missed by her husband, Richard Drury and her five children: Mike (Shellie) Kincaid, Scott (Julie) Kincaid, Annie Gilland, Molly (Tavis) Wilson and Nicholas (Shayla) Drury, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild, and by her siblings Patrick (Jean) O'Brien, Wiiliam (Kathy) O’Brien, Kathleen O’Brien and John O'Brien. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Betty O’Brien, and her brother, Thomas O’Brien.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Chapel of Chimes 7924 N. 59th Ave, Glendale, Arizona from 5-7pm with a Rosary at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2025 at 10am Mater Misericordiae Mission Catholic Church located at 1537 West Monroe Street, Phoenix, AZ. The graveside service will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025 from 11-11:30am at National Cemetery of Arizona 2929 E. Pinnacle Peak Rd, Phoenix, Arizona .
