

Mary Louise Mireles, 68, of Glendale, AZ passed away on May 31, 2015 with her husband by her side. She was born on October 10, 1946 in Houston, Texas, the oldest daughter of Cecil and Mary Phillips. Mary graduated from Jefferson Davis High School, Houston, Texas in 1965 and graduated with honors from Phoenix College, Phoenix, Arizona in 1992 with an AA degree. She married her childhood sweetheart and next door neighbor, Dr. Jesse D. Mireles on March 25, 1966 and they made their home in Glendale, AZ for the past 28 years. Mary worked at Phoenix College as a research assistant in the Psychology Department for 26 years and retired in 2013. She had a passion for the field of psychology, country music, and Disneyland and she loved to read and spend time with her family. Reading was a big part of Mary’s life and she encouraged her husband to read for the joy of reading. She gave her husband a copy of Ashes in the Wind by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss and ignited a renewed love of reading in him. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Jesse D. Mireles, a brother, Cecil Phillips, and many nieces and nephews including Laura, Marc, Joseph, Louis, Misty and Austin whom she loved dearly all her life. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Charlene Cutaia. All services will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. A visitation will be held Monday, June 8, 2015 from 6 to 8 PM with a celebration of life be held Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 10:00 am in the chapel with internment immediately following at Forest Park East Cemetery. Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to Goodwill Industries as Mary and her husband generously donated to them all their lives.
