Jeannette Norman, 60, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on August 26, 2013. She was born in Los Angeles, California on March 31, 1953 to Howard G. Norman, Jr. and Esther Marie Norman. She attended high school in Lake Crystal, MN, where she graduated with top honors and was named homecoming queen. She moved to Arizona in 1993 and graduated from the International Institute of the Americas. Jeannette enjoyed a long career in the commercial construction industry, working as a contract administrator and quality control specialist. She thrived on the creative challenges of her work and always spoke warmly of her workplace family at Jokake Construction of Phoenix. She owned horses, wrote poetry and was devoted to her family and her faith.
During her sixty years on Earth Jeannette touched many lives- through her writing, through her work at Jokake Construction, as a mother to Mary and Heather, a sister to Howard, and as a friend to those who knew her.
If you are reading this then you undoubtedly know how Jeannette had touched your life. When we gather to remember and celebrate her life on Friday please come prepared to share a story, memory, or how Jeannette impacted your life. Everybody coming is here for one reason or another, and we are all in the same boat so please share your tears and laughter with each other. We all share similar joy and grief, but remember what Jeannette would have wanted: to cry when we enter this world, and to celebrate when we leave this world.
We remember Jeannette with a smile. Please share your thoughts on this online guestbook, and also with her family and each other.
Jeannette is survived by daughters Mary Elizabeth Norman and Heather Marie Hamlin; granddaughter Sarah Ashleigh McBride; sisters Sandy Fraga, Alice Cano, Karlene Huber (Harvey), and Renee Upton (Sam); brothers Vince Schommer (Ezzie), Dennis Montgomery (Janice), and Howard Norman (Marlene); stepmother Eleonore Norman; and niece, Amanda Upton Mowry.
A Celebration of her Life will take place at 1:00pm on Friday, September 6, with a casual time to visit from 12-1. Please joins us at West Resthaven Cemetery and Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale, AZ, 85301. 623-939-8394
