

Maurine Stander Doyle, 89, born March 8, 1931 in Logan Utah, to Jess Matthew Stander and Hartence Wahlstrom of Blackfoot Idaho. She was born in the home of her grandparents Ada Lamborn and Nephi Wahlstrom . Maurine is the oldest of 6 children with 2 of her sisters being born on her birthday. Maurine grew up on the family farm, attended Snake River High School, and graduated in 1949. She then attended Latter-day Saints Hospital School of Nursing. In 1953, she graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Maurine served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the New England States Mission in October of 1954. However, due to health issues she was transferred to the California mission, which included Phoenix where she served much of the time. She returned home to Blackfoot in 1956 and shortly thereafter moved to Phoenix where she worked as a nurse and met her husband William Richard (Dick) Doyle. They were married April 2, 1958 in the Idaho Falls temple. Maurine and Dick had 6 children. While raising their children, Maurine learned to reweave fabrics and repair high quality clothing. Maurine was Magic with a needle. She could embroider, cross-stitch, and crochet anything, and loved to teach the craft and make beautiful things for others. Maurine served for many years in the LDS temple in Mesa Arizona. She was fascinated by genealogy and compiled many histories of her ancestors. After a long hard battle with Alzheimer’s to which she finally succumbed on April 19, 2020.
Maurine was preceded in death by her husband William Richard Doyle, son Robert Doyle, parents Jess Mathew Stander and Hartence Wahlstrom, and Sister Evelyn.
She is survived by her siblings, Shirley Evans (late Frank Evans), Karen Thomson (late Roy Thomson), John Russell “JR” Stander (Linda), and Ada Marie Larsen (late Reid Larsen). Her Children John Richard Doyle, Daughter in Law Heidi Samuelson, Bryan Doyle and his wife Jane, Laura Le Kidd and her husband Wes, Diane Broderick and her husband John, Allen Doyle, and his wife Terri. She is also survived by her 30 grandchildren, and 26 great grand children.
