This is youngest grandson Elijah James Thurwanger writing from school on free time my papa was a kind man he was nice a hard worker and overall a dam good person I was sad and stressed the day I saw him laying in our backyard I miss him a lot I once asked about his fathers or grandfathers aviation academy hat and the conversation lasted a hour or two I love he could carry on a conversation we had bonding time we talked laughed and shared expirence you couldn't get between him and hot wings even his swollen lip at great wolf lodge couldn't I liked the big slide there going down with him I cherished our time together thank you all for the support I love him I can't put into words all of his qualities which were really good I love him and miss him again thanks for the love for him you all must've been real good friends uncle Arol if you see this i'm sorry get better we all miss him he was a good man.

Phil could always carryon a conversation - about any subject! We knew him as a kind and considerate person. He worked hard and had integrity and compassion for others. His shining light will live on with the memories he left with all who knew him. In loving memory of a kind soul.

Philip was a kind man one of the kindest people my wife and I have ever met we have only known him a short time I believe almost 5yrs we always had some of the coolest conversations about life and military things cars learning how to fix odds and ends he was always happy always smiling that always made us smile to see such great energy Philip and his family are like family to us and will always be remembered for that smile and outgoing Ness for life

To my best friend since 1976. You will be dearly missed.
You have a heart of gold. Hepling many needing a hand up and teaching all who wanted to learn.

Phil is a wonderful person man, that I had the pleasure to be friends with as well as colleges in the fix and repair business. We taught each other a few things over the years and I'll always cherish the time with the "old guy" (that's what he would refer himself as) because they all included a story or two. Phil will definitely be missed tremendously in my life. Phil always told me "Ron , you have more tenacity than anyone I've ever met." The truth is that Phil has more tenacity then a group of people. 
Rest in peace Mr. Swauger and do me a favor and say hi to Dave the electrician for me.

Mr.Philip Swauger became a mentor and friend to me and my family. He saw the good in people and never judged . I've learned so much from this man and his family. Dear Phil, 

Thank you for being such a great friend and mentor to me. You were a great role model for what true passion for work looks like.
