Priscilla Ann Valdez

Priscilla Ann Valdez passed away at the age of 83 in Phoenix, Arizona. She passed peacefully on the morning on May 4, 2024 with the comfort of knowing all three of her surviving children had visited her the day before.

Born on February 7, 1942, in Superior, Arizona, Priscilla was the youngest daughter of Lucas and Librada Martinez. She graduated from Washington High School in 1959 and later that year married her high school sweetheart Eddie Valdez Sr. Together, they built a strong and loving marriage that lasted for 63 years. Priscilla and Eddie raised four children: Eddie Jr., Marty, Cynthia, and Tony. For many years, Priscilla worked as an office manager for the Washington Elementary School District office where her dedication and warmth made a lasting impact.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, Priscilla’s greatest joy was her family. She was the heart of every holiday gathering, opening her home with warmth and preparing meals that brought everyone together. Her love was felt most deeply through her cooking and hospitality. Everyone felt welcome in her presence.

In retirement, Priscilla and Eddie enjoyed travelling across the US and cherished their time on cruises. She found peace and happiness in the simple joys of life. Priscilla loved chatting with friend and family in the sitting room, reading the newspaper, and staying connected through phone calls.

Priscilla is survived by her children Eddie Jr., Cynthia, and Ton along with her sister Dolores. She was preceded in death by her husband Eddie, son Marty, and parents Lucas and Librada Martinez, her sisters Sarah, Sophie, and Mary Hellen, and her brothers Lucas, Rudy, and Nicholas. Priscilla’s legacy lives on through her five grandchildren and more than ten great grandchildren as the family continues to grow.

Priscilla was a gentle, caring soul who touched everyone she met with warmth and grace. Her family will miss her dearly.

A Visitation for Priscilla will be held Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 5:00 PM at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, Arizona, with a rosary to follow. A Funeral Mass will occur Friday, May 16, 2025 from 11:00 AM at Saint Jerome Catholic Church, 10815 N 35th Ave, Phoenix, Arizona. A Graveside Service will occur Friday, May 16, 2025 from 12:30 PM to at West Resthaven Cemetery, 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, Arizona. A Catered Reception will occur Friday, May 16, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, Arizona.
