

Rachel Virginia Valencia Kearns Davenport of Phoenix, passed away on Sunday, September 19th, 2021 at her home in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born on September 27th,1940 to the late Raphael and Augustina (Gutierrez) Valencia in Tolleson, Arizona. She attended Washington High School and graduated class of 1958. She then became a stay at home mom for several years until her children were grown enough that she could follow her desire to go to welding school. Rachel worked as a welder at the Palo Verde Nuclear Plant and became the First Female Section Leader of the weld shop. She became the first female welder and member of Local 469. On July 26,1980 she married Jon Davenport in Phoenix, Arizona.She enjoyed hiking, working out, going to the beach but, most of all spending time with her family.
Rachel is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Jon Davenport, 8 Children Augustina, Alisa, Ralph, John, Thomas, Jody, Jaime, Jill, 15 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. predeceased by Husband Robert Kearns and Daughter Jacque
A Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Chimes on Friday October 1, 2021 at 10am. A Celebration of Life will be held at Chapel of the Chimes on Friday October 1, 2021 at 11am. A Graveside service will follow at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona 23029 Cave Creek Road Phoenix, Arizona. A Reception will be held at her Daughter Tina’s House after the graveside service at approximately 2:30 pm
