Born August 8, 1937 in Omaha, NE, he retired as a Professional Civil Engineer from the Town of Prescott Valley in AZ. He enjoyed an occasional relaxing game of golf and loved watching his college football team the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He never missed a “Go Big Red” Saturday! He was dearly loved and is severely missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Opal Smith and his sister Shirley Gorat. He is survived by his wife, Mary “Chris” Smith, daughter Jodi Young, son Scott (Tammy) Smith, daughter Shelly (Bob) Barry, three granddaughters; Christine (Adam) Parish, Nicole Barry, Rachel Barry, his sister Betty Ruffino, many loving nieces and nephews.
Memorial mass will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 10:30 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
