Raul Luna Hernandez

Raul was a proud retired 1st Sgt. US Army E-8 (1946-1968). He was a strict, tough but loving and caring man who always put family first. He was a very hard working man and even at his age, he still thought he could move around like a young man. Raul had a serious side to him, but also had a great sense of humor.

Raul is survived by his children Sabin Hernandez (Pauline), Connie Hernandez, Lydia Blair (Joe), Alfred Hernandez, Gilbert Hernandez, Olga Hernandez, Anna Lopez (Steve), Yolanda Bejarano (Felix), Patricia Ovalle (Eddie), 20 Grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 6 great- great grandchildren and siblings Dolores Romero, Seferino Hernandez, Carmen Olmstead, and Mary Sandoval.

Raul is preceded in death by his wife Guadalupe Mendiola Hernandez. Grandson Angel J. Lopez and great grandson James Hernandez. Brothers, Pete Hernandez, Alejandro Hernandez, Manuel Hernandez. Sisters, Angela Miller, Andrea Sanchez, Ruby Garcia and parents, Pedro and Dolores.

A visitation for Raul will be held Friday, July 19, 2024 at 9:00 AM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 West Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301, with a funeral service to follow at 10:00 AM. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 AM at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301.
