

After his honorable discharge from the Navy he went on to work for Chevron. While working for Chevron he met his wife Doreen and 5 children. After Doreen’s passing and 28 years of marriage Richard continued to work for Ruan Transportation until retirement.
Richard had a passion for fishing, golf, bowling and spending time at the horse track. He was involved with Christ Church of the Valley for many years serving as a greeter and usher.
He is survived by son Jerry (Charlotte) Criswell; daughters Barbara (Wayne) Kinman, Susan (Bruce) Daugherty, LaVaya Criswell and Donna (Bill) Dankemeyer; brother Leonard (Margaret) Hawkins; sisters Louise (Lonzo- deceased) Starling, Joanne (Leroy) Bentpine, Nina (Eric- deceased) Olsen; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Doreen and brother Glen (Crystal- surviving) Hawkins.
A Funeral service will take place Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 10:00 am at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary 7924 N. 59th Ave. Burial will follow at Glendale Memorial Park Cemetery at 11:15 am. Condolences can be left for the family at www.chapelofthechimesmortuary.com
